Atelier

On Ioan Bianu Street, No. 52, in Bucharest, behind a door framed by lilac trees, things are made differently.

Fereya atelier — Bucharest

No production lines. No factory floor. What you hear instead are scissors on paper, the rhythm of a sewing machine, and sometimes — when a pattern finally comes right after the third attempt — a quiet sound of relief.

This is where Fereya is made. Three women, one shared conviction: that a garment either deserves to exist, or it doesn't.

The people

Cecilia

Pattern construction · Creative direction

Every piece begins at this table. The pattern — drawn by hand, tested on the body, sometimes redrawn from scratch — is where a garment is either born or abandoned. It is never a formality. It is always a decision.

Cecilia is Maricica's daughter. She grew up around fabric, scissors and the particular silence of someone who is concentrating. She left banking to come back to all of that — and to build something from it.

Maricica

Master technician · Faculty of Fashion Design, UNARTE Bucharest · 30 years of experience

Thirty years of understanding how fabric behaves — where it wants to go and where it needs to be guided. Maricica has spent decades teaching garment construction at the University of Arts in Bucharest. At Fereya, she works alongside her daughter — which means the standards are non-negotiable, and the lunch breaks are non-negotiable too.

Alecsia

Graduate, Faculty of Fashion Design, UNARTE Bucharest

Fresh eyes, precise hands. Alecsia brings the contemporary perspective that keeps every piece honest to the woman who will actually wear it — not the one on the mood board, but the real one, with a real day ahead of her.

How we work

Some days are calm. Others are not. Tight deadlines, a pattern that won't cooperate, a fabric that behaves differently than expected — these days happen. What we have learned, working alongside each other, is that the only answer is each other.

We are not a production line. We are three women who support each other, who eat lunch together, and who share the conviction that what we make matters — because it ends up on the body of a woman who chose it for a reason.

A piece either stays or it doesn't

Before anything leaves this atelier, it is worn, washed and tested. A garment that looks exceptional but doesn't feel right doesn't stay. We have learned — sometimes the hard way — that a woman forgives many things, but she never forgives discomfort.

Each piece that reaches you has already passed that test. It takes the time it needs.

Because true luxury is never rushed — and it is never made in thousands.

What comes next

Come and see it in person.

Some things cannot be communicated through a screen. The weight of a well-cut fabric. The way a piece sits differently on a body than on a hanger. The difference between a good garment and the right one.

Our showroom is a quiet space where you can take the time a considered choice deserves.
